Parasol

This is one of my favorite photographs I’ve made to date, Parasol.

I made it Sunday; everything in it is exactly the way I want it to be. The highlights are blown, and it’s saturated and a tad noisy. It has colors that contrast, a well-framed subject and some depth.

“Strive for goodness,” Sam Abell says.

I fell very good about this one. What do you remember about your favorite photograph?

Weekend Wanderings

If felt good to be out-and-about last weekend after being under the weather for over a week. Most photos were taken with my Apple iPhone X; some were taken with my Sony a6000 using the 30mm Sigma. All photos were edited in Lightroom and VSCO.

It’s Been a While

I’m ready to post again after a short break. I took a step back to reassess my goals; focus on growing as a photographer.

I discovered Bill Owens, Saul Leiter, Joel Meyerowitz. I studied the works of Sebastião Salgado and Vivian Maier. I was gifted a used, Canon AE-1 Program (my first film camera!) and just today loaded it with its first roll of film (from me)! I’m excited to see how the photos will turn out.

No Crop

I decided to give “shooting from the hip” a try today. To ice the cake, I decided to forego any cropping (other than some straightening) in post. I took everything below with my Sony a6000 using the Sigma 30mm.

I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed taking them!
