A born-again street and documentary photographer, Kevin Baum grew up in Chicago’s Northwest Suburb of Wheeling, IL.

An avid writer, movie watcher and “creative,” he first danced with photography while enrolled in a high school Intro class.

Admittedly, he didn’t care much for making images at the time. The pinhole camera was too primitive and it took too long to develop film. It wasn’t until the winter of 2017-2018 that he again picked up a camera for artistic purposes, and it was the summer of 2018 when he truly fell for photography and began to exercise the muscle.

I’ve been making images seriously since August, 2018. Self-taught and primarily shooting digital color, my portfolio is colorful, dreamy, and diverse. I’m mostly drawn to “street,” although my book of work also runs deep with landscapes and cityscapes, and architecture images. My style is defined by my eye for movement, light, and composition, and sincere empathy for the city and its people.
